It started the way the best things always do — with a group chat, a lunch hour, and three colleagues who couldn't stop thinking about pizza. More than a year later, almost every week we pick a different spot in New York, show up hungry, and pass the pies around the table while they're still hot.

People ask us all the time what the best pizza in NYC is. The honest answer: it's impossible to say — and we're not sure it's the right question. The Roman al taglio, the leopard-spotted Neapolitan, the coal-fired Brooklyn classic, the Sicilian drowning in cheese — each one is the best in its own genre. Picking a single winner would mean missing everything that makes this scene extraordinary.
